Visible alternatives for investor updates
The best Visible alternative depends on which part of Visible you’d be replacing.

Vectig publishes this page, so read it knowing that. Below, we say plainly where another option is the better choice.
Vectig fits if you mostly need the monthly update written for you. Cabal fits if you only need a clean send from your own inbox, Foundersuite if a fundraising CRM matters more, and Carta if your cap table already lives there. Visible’s free Starter plan is generous, and for many early founders it’s the right answer. Below are the specific reasons founders look elsewhere, and where Visible still wins.
Why founders look at Visible alternatives
These are facts about Visible’s plans, set against needs some founders have. Depending on what you need, some of them work in Visible’s favor.
- Integration limits rise by plan. Core includes three integrations and Growth includes five, and “each unique data source counts as a single data integration.” If you want many sources connected, price the plan that covers all of them: Core is $129/month billed annually ($149 monthly).
- Recipients are capped by plan. The caps are 100, 250, 500, and 1,000. Visible also reports that founders using it send updates to 57 recipients on average, so many founders won’t come near the cap.
- AI drafting runs through your own agent. Visible’s updates page describes asking your own AI agent to draft the next update directly in Visible, and its Requests product can turn a reply to an investor’s data request into an update. Some founders would rather the tool produce the draft itself each month from their own past updates. That’s the design Vectig takes.
- It covers more than updates. Founder plans include pitch decks, pipelines, data rooms, and an investor database, and Visible also sells portfolio monitoring to venture firms. Some founders like that, because their investors may already use Visible. If you only need the monthly update, something narrower may fit better.
On price, Starter is free and paid plans start at $59/month billed annually, so the comparison below is about fit more than cost.
How we compared
We use the same method as our investor update software comparison: who writes the draft, whether it carries last month forward, where the numbers come from, who read it, what else is in the box, and what it costs at your size. Facts about Visible come from visible.vc, and facts about each alternative from its own site, all checked in October 2026 and linked under Sources. We didn’t buy other vendors’ paid plans to test them, and prices are as listed, in US dollars, before tax.
The alternatives
Vectig: if you want the draft written for you
Vectig is investor update software for venture-backed founders: it drafts your monthly update in your voice from your numbers and your past updates.
- You paste a few past updates once. The narrative engine is conditioned on your prior updates, supplied as context — never used to train any model.
- Starting with your first full month, a draft is waiting at the start of each month, and it calls out numbers that disagree with what you told investors last month.
- Stripe and Mercury connections are rolling out now. Manual entry is fully supported today.
- Nothing goes to your investors until you press send, and there’s no setting that sends automatically.
- Each investor gets a personal link to the update, and Vectig records an open when that investor opens it. There’s no tracking pixel, so an investor who reads only in their inbox won’t show as opened.
- Unlimited investor contacts.
Best for: a funded founder whose bottleneck is writing the update and keeping it consistent month to month, not hosting decks or running a raise.
Pricing: Solo is $49/month, or $39/month billed annually, after a 7-day trial. You add a card at signup, and there’s no free plan. A 14-day money-back guarantee applies after your first charge.
Compared with Visible, you give up: a free plan, pitch decks, pipelines, data rooms, the investor database, and sending from your own domain. Vectig sends from its own address (updates@vectig.com).
Moving over: paste your past updates once, wherever they live now, then import your contacts from a CSV with name, email, and firm columns.
Cabal: if you only need a clean, tracked send
Cabal sends investor updates as personalized mail merges “from your own inbox,” with each recipient getting a private email instead of a BCC. Open and click tracking shows which investors engaged.
Best for: founders who write their own update and want it to arrive as a personal email.
Pricing, as published: free to start. Cabal Mail Pro is $19/month per user and adds collaborative drafts, engagement tracking, and unbranded emails.
Foundersuite: if you’re raising and want a CRM first
Foundersuite centers on an investor CRM and a database it describes as “216,000 LPs, VC and HNW including family offices.” Its investor updates carry text, images, KPIs, and attachments, and track “who viewed it and for how long.”
Best for: founders in an active raise who want prospective and current investors in one pipeline.
Pricing, as published: Basic is free forever. Paid plans are billed annually: $745, $1,069, and $1,609 a year. A data room is listed as a paid add-on on Gold and Platinum.
Carta: if your cap table already lives there
Carta’s Investor Relations hub sends updates, its Communication Center tells you whether investors have read them, and messages can carry an expiration date. You can add a one-time financial snapshot from your accounting software, and Carta also offers a virtual data room. Its plan comparison lists investor updates on all four packages, including the free Launch package.
Best for: founders already on Carta who want updates next to ownership data.
Pricing, as published: Launch is free for companies with under 25 stakeholders that have raised up to $1 million. Other packages are priced per stakeholder with a minimum annual fee, through sales.
A doc plus email: if you want zero tools
Write in Notion or Google Docs and send from your own inbox. Notion has a free plan. You get full flexibility and do every step yourself.
Best for: a small investor list and a founder with a steady habit. See our DIY stack guide.
ChatGPT or Claude: if you want help with one update
A general-purpose assistant can shape this month’s bullets into prose. Claude’s projects can hold your past updates as standing context, including on free accounts. You still gather the numbers, send, and follow up yourself.
Best for: founders comfortable maintaining their own prompt. Our investor update prompt works unchanged in ChatGPT or any capable model.

Where Visible is still the better choice
- You want a capable free plan. Starter is free forever and sends to up to 100 investors, with KPI dashboards, two pitch decks, two pipelines, and access to Visible Connect, its investor database.
- You’re running a raise in the same tool. Decks, pipelines, the investor database, and data rooms (five, with advanced permissions, on Growth) are in the box.
- Updates must come from your company domain. That’s available from Base up.
- You want several share formats. Visible sends updates as an email, a link, a Slack message, or a PDF.
- You need connected data sources now. Visible’s integrations page lists Stripe, QuickBooks, Xero, Mercury, and Google Sheets, and Core and Growth include three and five integrations.
- Your investors already use Visible. Staying keeps your updates where they already read them.
- Your security review needs a named attestation. Visible’s site lists SOC 2 Type II. Vectig doesn’t claim a SOC 2 report.
